Using a sponge and some mineral turpentine often perks them up.

I've been using a steel brush and kerosine - do you think that's wrong?

The steel brush is fine, but the kerosine might impair performance somewhat.

I heard someone in a pub saying they use a toothbrush and hot soapy water. I almost passed out with laughter!

Hah! Yeah there are a lot of SAMEs around hey - self appointed maintenance experts!

A supermarket worker actually tried to convince me to try shampoo and a rag!

Did you knock them down and bloody their nose? I would have! I just can't stand that sort of ignorance ...

No, I applied mineral turpentine with a sponge to the woman. That quietened her down!

Good work! Well, I might go for a snowy then, until I can afford the albatross.

Do you have access to wholesale blue-tits?

Shit, I only like fresh ... there's a shortage up here at the moment. They're not ripe.

If you leave them in a water dish, half filled, in the sun for a few days they should be good and ripe.

I find if I leave them in a dish for that long their bottoms get all soggy.

That's ok - it ferments them quite nicely.

But, if I don't need it fermented, just ripe?

Ohhhh! then you wrap each one in a fresh squirrel and microwave it on high for 2 minutes.
